A robotics company that has been a leader in its field for many years, iRobot is now focused on home automation that is smart. Their robot vacuum cleaners boast the ability to pinpoint their location and detect dirt.

The story in the frame story focuses on a woman named Gloria and her robot nursemaid, Robbie. Gloria is devastated when her parents take Robbie back to the factory.

Roomba

Roomba is a robotic vacuum for carpets vacuum cleaner that operates on its own. It was designed to clean floors and carpets, it navigates around furniture and other obstacles to clean the floor thoroughly. It then automatically returns to the dock and recharges, and it is controlled via a smartphone application or a remote control.

Most Roomba models can detect obstacles with infrared sensors and can alter direction when they encounter an obstacle. Advanced versions can create a floor map and determine the best path to take. This lets them vacuum more space in less time than older models, and boosts the efficiency. Some Roombas come with a squeegee that can be used to remove large pieces of debris such as pebbles or crumbs. Some Roombas have a large capacity bin that can hold more dirt, but not have to be empty.

The iRobot Home app lets you set cleaning times, select when the robot should return to its dock and also control other functions, such as altering the number of passes. The app also gives you a complete history of each cleaning task, including how long the robot took to finish the task and whether it encountered obstacles or canceled the task. The iRobot app can be linked with other iRobot products, like Braava M6, which will automatically start mopping after the Roomba finishes vacuuming.

In late May 2019, iRobot introduced the S series of Roombas that feature advanced obstacle detection and intelligent mapping technology to help them determine the best route through the home. The S9 and S9+ are the most intelligent Roombas iRobot has made to date, featuring 40 times more suction than the 600 series and 30% larger rubber brushes for better edge cleaning. They also have the ability to create "Keep out zones" to prevent the robot from entering certain areas, such as a denseet of cords.

The j9+ is the top-of-the-line model, and it comes with everything that the brand has to offer. The j9+ features a self-emptying base, advanced obstacle detection and automatic updates to iRobot OS. It can also learn from your cleaning habits to prioritize rooms and control the power of its brush motors. It's also able to remove deeper-entrenched dirt, pet hair and allergens.

Scooba

The Irobot Scooba was designed to wash your floor without mess. It utilizes an active-reservoir design to separate the cleaning solution from dirty water. It uses a three step cleaning procedure to get rid of dirt and bacteria. It can clean up to 150 square feet of floor per cleaning.

The Scooba is very easy to use. Its top is adorned with three clearly labeled, backlit buttons. The largest button, Clean, starts and stops the cleaning cycle. The Information button on the left side will flash various colors to indicate the status. The third button will start the task. There's also a small on/off switch and an outlet for the power cord.

It comes with a replacement battery. It takes about two hours to recharge, but is convenient for those who want quick cleaning. Scooba has an adjustable base plate that allows you to easily clean the bristles and vacuum holes. The battery slot is press-fit, and slightly recessed, however there is an O-ring to keep the water from entering the battery compartment.

In our tests Scooba, we found that the Scooba was able to wash the majority of our kitchen tiles, however, it struggled with our mudroom. It was able clean the mud but not the edges of the room. Also, it was unable to get close to the cabinets in the kitchen. We also noticed that we could easily find the round Scooba stuck to furniture. This was not a good thing for us.

It was quick and did a fantastic cleaning job on the rest of our home. It cleaned the bathroom extremely well and we didn't have to worry about the smell that lingers. The Scooba is also very loud, which makes it be difficult to operate in a bedroom or living room.

I noticed some gunk stuck in the vacuum holes at the bottom of the Scooba. This can be removed in part by rinsing off. This is important as the vacuum holes that are blocked could cause the bot to stop functioning.

Braava

The irobot roomba for pets Braava jet m6 appears simple, but it has many clever engineering to ensure that mopping and navigation function well. The compact body, which measures 10 x 10,6 x 3,5 inches, and weighs only 4.4 pounds allows it to navigate small spaces without damaging furniture. The robot's head is designed to scrub floors and its nozzle sprays a moist mop. It also vibrates to release dirt and remove stains.

The robot uses vSLAM navigation, which is the latest technology in home mapping. It is able to avoid carpets and other obstacles. Its driving wheels allow it to get around corners and cliff sensors prevent it from falling down stairs or down other steep drops. It also learns about your cleaning habits and suggests additional cleaning during pollen or allergy season.

With the iRobot HOME App it is possible to create a cleaning schedule and select rooms to be cleaned. You can also create Keep Out Zones to keep out areas you don't want the robot to enter. The robot can be controlled with voice commands due to the compatibility of Google Assistant and Alexa (sold separately) devices.

The iRobot HOME app can connect to a Braava and a Roomba which allows you to organize cleaning tasks.
