The Olympic mixed doubles tennis champions shared a kiss to celebrate clinching gold, just weeks after the pair broke up as a real-life couple.

One user replied: 'We all need to participate in an Olympics to spice up our relationships sometimes.'

Another suggested that their relationship hinged on success at the Games, posting: ' 'She said "you've got to help me win the Olympic gold medal to win me back" and he delivered.'

Meanwhile, one social media user added: 'It's so poetic if they really had broken up and these last days of winning and getting the gold eventually brought them back together.'

Not many couples could overcome a breakup as public as theirs but the duo's victory was in fact highly tipped, with Siniakova in particular one of the best doubles players in the world.

The 28-year-old bagged gold in the women's doubles in Tokyo three years ago with partner Barbora Krejcikova and the pair have seven Grand Slam trophies in their collection, including Wimbledon titles in 2018 and 2022.
